On Sunday, after a long wait and a few minor bumps along the road, Babycakes NYC finally opened up to a packed house in L.A. So before you declare cupcakes “so 2009,” you should stop by Babycakes for some seriously yummy (and wheat-free, dairy-free, gluten-free, egg-free, & soy-free) treats that won’t totally kill your 2010 resolutions.
The shop is small and cozy, and smiling faces welcome you into a world of cupcakes and kitsch. The vinyl records and other retro riff-raff are (like most) a little forced, but mostly just adorable and the cute shop girls are icing on the (cup)cake.
